Dynamo Pardubice rushes to the title again

Dynamo Pardubice's record in the Würtarena is impressive. Four games, four wins, 15:2 goals. After the Czechs promptly won the title in their first participation in the Dolomites Cup last year, they impressively followed up this summer and were crowned champions again. In the final on Sunday, the Swiss record champions HC Davos did not find an antidote - even though the Davos legend, Andres Ambühl, returned to the squad. He was absent on Friday due to illness. The only draw was in the stands. There, around 100 fans from Switzerland and just as many Czech fans who traveled with us created an atmosphere worthy of the finale. A total of 978 spectators attended the special ice hockey evening in the sold-out Würtarena.

The Pardubice cracks continued on Sunday where they left off on Saturday in the semi-final against Augsburg (4-0): with power ice hockey at its best. The men in red rushed across the pitch like high-speed trains, combining as one and displaying forechecking that was simply impressive. Davos didn't have a second to catch his breath, goalie Gilles Senn jumped from one parade to the next. The Swiss goalkeeper still had to admit defeat twice: Tomas Dvorak's blueliner was slightly deflected and skidded over the line (9th), Peter Ceresnak's slapshot hit the goal like a rocket (18th).

Fast as an arrow and extremely dangerous In the middle third, the traditional Czech club, which has played continuously in the first division for 73 years, kept its rhythm high and was extremely dangerous, especially with quick counter-attacks. One of these also made it 3-0 when David Cienciala took off and passed it to Adam Musil, who shoveled the disc into the goal. Shortly before the end of the third, Lukas Sedlak refined a remarkable teamwork to make it 4-0.

With that the game was decided. In the final period, Davos scored a consolation goal through Chris Egli after fine work by Aleksi Peltonen (44th), before Ondrej Vala scored the final point with a hidden shot (45th). At this point, the celebrations of the passionate Pardubice fans in the stands had long since begun. You can start the 800 kilometer journey home as Dolomites Cup winner for the second time in a row!

In the afternoon another match took place in the Würtarena. In the small final, the Swedish top club Rögle BK defeated the Dolomite Cup record winners the Augsburger Panthers 3-0.

Title successfully defended! Dynamo Pardubice put on a big show on Sunday evening in Neumarkt/South Tyrol and impressively won the Dolomites Cup final against HC Davos 5-1. The 17th edition of the renowned preparation tournament is history.
