HC Bozen says goodbye to the break with a “big win”.

After the narrow overtime defeat on Friday in Linz, HC Bozen didn't want to leave anything to chance in their visit to the Czech Republic and set an extremely high pace from the first minute. The window hit the Znojmo goal for the first time after just 59 seconds, after Steve Saviano rounded the opponent's goal and slotted it in to make it 1-0. However, the home team were not very impressed. They quickly took the scepter from Bozen's hands and pushed for the equalizer. This was finally achieved in the 17th minute by Martin Podesva, who lofted the puck into the net over HCB goalie Jaroslav Hübl.

Saviano leads the Foxes to victory

In the second third, the Foxes got off to a lightning start again. And again it was Saviano who reacted quickest after a blocked shot and put Bozen ahead 2-1. The guests didn't let up anymore. In the 31st minute, Alex Foster scored his first goal in the white and red uniform from close range.

The South Tyroleans' two-goal lead lasted until seven minutes before the end before Martin Baca nailed the goal under the crossbar from the blue line. But just three minutes later, Marco Insam was there after a rebound and scored with a backhander to make it 4-2. This was also the winning goal for the HCB, because Branislav Rehus made things exciting again a short time later with another goal, but in the final seconds the Foxes put the important away win away.

HC Bozen says goodbye to the break with a “big win”.

The HCB pooled all its strengths again on Saturday and secured a hard-fought 4-3 win against third-placed Orli Znojmo. The Foxes climb to sixth place in the table. Now it's time for the two-week international break.
