Bad news for HC Pustertal

Immediately before game 3 of the quarter-final series against Klagenfurter AC, HC Pustertal made bitter news public.

Alex Petan will not play another game this season. The Wolves' assistant captain tore the long biceps tendon in his right arm at the start of the quarter-final series against Klagenfurt on Sunday. This injury requires surgical treatment, and the 32-year-old Italian-Canadian will undergo surgery in Munich on Friday.

This is very bitter for HC Pustertal, who have lost a key player in Petan. This is the Wolves' second long-term absence, as defender Ole Andersen (microfracture in his hand) also had to end his season. With top scorer Jason Akeson, the HCP is missing another top player, but he could still return in the quarter-final series against Klagenfurt.

HC Pustertal will play quarter-final 19.15 in Klagenfurt on Friday from 3:19.45 p.m. HC Bozen will host Villacher SV at 7:1 p.m. The score in both best-of-1 series is XNUMX:XNUMX.
