They played well, earned a surprising point in Sweden, and yet were eliminated from the Champions Hockey League. HC Bolzano experienced a special evening in the Champions League on Tuesday. Afterward, one player took center stage.

Bryce Misley, a trained center forward, stepped in as a defender for the Foxes in the final group match. HCB Südtirol Alperia had to start without three defenders: the suspended Mark Barberio and the injured Dylan DiPerna and Philip Samuelsson. Although 2:3 after extra time against Swedish champions Luleå was not enough to advance, Misley received a lot of recognition.

One person who particularly praised the Italian-Canadian's team spirit was fellow defenseman Enrico Miglioranzi. "He deserves a huge thank you," said the experienced HCB defenseman. Although he appeared dejected after the overtime loss, he also emphasized how important it was for Bolzano to finally play good hockey for 60 minutes after their two recent league defeats. "Unfortunately, Luleå scored the decisive goal in the end," said Miglioranzi.
