The polar bears continue to ride the wave of success

Last year, the HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites were the bearers of the red lantern after the regular season. This year, the Icebears from Toblach are showing a completely different face. On Wednesday, they forced the Falcons Brixen into their place.

While the Eisbären left the ice as winners for the fourth time in a row thanks to their 4-2 victory, the Falcons suffered their tenth defeat in the last eleven games. The home team led 20-2 after 0 minutes. Chase Phelps scored the 1-0 after just five minutes, and Bogdan Stupak added another in the 16th minute.

The Icebears came close in the second period thanks to a power play goal by Robert McCollum, before turning the game on its head in the final period. First, Mattia Covelli equalized against his former club, then Mykhailo Krasnozhon put the visitors in front for the first time. Brixen pressed for an equalizer with one more man, but failed. Instead, Lukas Klettenhammer made everything clear with an empty-net goal.
