Kaltern remains the undisputed league leader
In the Italian Hockey League (IHL), everything remains the same – at least as far as the top of the standings is concerned: The Kaltern Pike have been there for weeks. On Saturday, HC Eppan and HC Brixen also celebrated victories.

SV Kaltern and first place – these two things seem inseparable. The Pike have held the top spot for several matchdays, and on Saturday they extended their lead with a 4-2 away win against Pergine.
The game started disastrously for the Überetsch team: after the first 20 minutes, they were trailing 0-2. But SV Kaltern showed resilience and fought their way back into the game. In the second period, the Pike turned the game around – from 0-2 to a 3-2 lead, and Mattia Clericuzio finally sealed the 4-2 victory in the final period.
Eppan and Brixen win, Three Peaks Dolomites do not.
HC Eppan, meanwhile, has recovered well from its derby thrashing. In the Raiffeisen Arena in Kaltern, the Pirates celebrated a 6-2 victory against HC Feltre. Daniel Eruzione quickly put the team from the Überetsch region on the path to victory with two goals. Because the visitors didn't let up, the game wasn't decided until the third period – where the Pirates scored four goals.Jubilation among the HC Brixen Falcons after their home victory. © Falcons Brixen
HC Brixen celebrated their second consecutive victory, securing a well-deserved 4-3 win at home against Varese – with Paul Mantinger contributing two goals. Brixen has now climbed to ninth place in the standings, currently ten points behind the top five.
The Three Peaks Dolomites, bottom of the league, had to make the long away trip to Aosta on St. Nicholas Day. There, the Puster Valley team managed to secure a point – only losing in a penalty shootout.
