Pre-Christmas goal avalanche in the IHL

The Italian Hockey League's final matchday before Christmas Eve took place on Tuesday evening. Numerous goals were scored – twelve goals were netted in one game in Kaltern.

South Tyrol's amateur ice hockey teams didn't hold back on goals on Tuesday evening. A whopping 46 saves were made by the various goalies across five different venues. That's an average of 9,2 goals per game.

The highest-scoring match took place in Kaltern. A whopping twelve goals were scored in the duel between the home team Hechten and Fassa. The majority of these goals were scored by the South Tyrolean league leaders, who won the game 9-3. But the goals also flowed almost non-stop in Eppan (5-4 victory against Varese) and Aosta (6-3 victory against Valpellice).

Toblach, however, achieved a prestigious victory. The Polar Bears defeated Brixen 4-3 in front of their home crowd.
