Draisaitl scores ninth hat trick of his NHL career

Leon Draisaitl led his Edmonton Oilers to a 5-1 (2-1, 2-0, 1-0) home victory over the Calgary Flames with a hat trick.

The German ice hockey star scored three goals in a game for the ninth time in his NHL career; Draisaitl last achieved this in the 2023 final series in the North American ice hockey league.

What's special: Draisaitl scored all three goals from the power play; he is the fifth player in the Oilers' club history to score three goals in a single game while on the power play.

“I’m happy when I can create scoring opportunities for my teammates. I was never in panic mode because I hadn’t scored for a while. It was only a matter of time before I found the net again,” Draisaitl said about his goals. The striker had gone eight matches without scoring.

With 44 points, the Oilers are tied in the Pacific Division with the Anaheim Ducks and the first-placed Vegas Golden Knights.
