Edmonton's winning streak: Draisaitl dismantles Minnesota

In the North American professional ice hockey league NHL, the Edmonton Oilers have once again impressively demonstrated their current strong form. Detroit, on the other hand, is becoming the league's problem child.

Led by Leon Draisaitl, the Canadians won 7-1 against the Minnesota Wild, second in the Western Conference. "Everyone was very good, but Leon was on a different level," said Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch.

The 29-year-old Draisaitl provided the assists for the visitors' first two goals before Minnesota narrowed the gap before the end of the first period. After Connor Brown made it 3-1 at the start of the second period, it was Draisaitl again who made the preliminary decision with another assist and a goal. Troy Stecher and Derek Ryan increased the score in the third period. Edmonton has now won seven of its last eight games.

Red Wings lose again

While the Oilers are racing from victory to victory, the Detroit Red Wings have suffered their sixth defeat in the same period. The team from the car city lost 1:4 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Moritz Seider scored all four of the Flyers' goals and Scott Laughton scored all four. With just eleven wins from 29 games, the Red Wings remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table.
