Senators extend the “Battle of Ontario”
The Ottawa Senators avoided a quick exit from the NHL playoffs. In Game 4 of their opening series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Senators secured their first win.

In the “Battle of Ontario” the Senators in the best-of-seven series to 1:3. Jake Sanderson scored after just 18 minutes of overtime to secure a 4:3 victory. Maple Leafs only one win is missing to advance.
German Tim Stützle scored his first playoff goal in the first period. Shane Pinto added another for Ottawa. Toronto tied the game through John Tavares and Matthew Knies. David Perron gave the Senators the lead again in the final period, but Oliver Ekman-Larsson equalized again. So, like in Game 3 of the series, the game went into overtime, this time with Ottawa prevailing.
However, the Florida PanthersThe defending champion lost at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning after an early lead of 1:5. In the duel between the two teams from Florida, the score is now 2:1 for the Panthers, who had won twice on the road in the series opener.
