Mission Olympia: The “Azzurri” start preparations

Captain Anton Bernard's team will be in the province of Belluno until July 29th to work on the fine-tuning for the final tournament. There are still around a month and a half to go until the qualifying tournament, which will take place in Oslo from September 1st to 4th. Overall, the ice hockey cracks will come together in three different training camps in the coming weeks in order to prepare as best as possible for their three qualifying opponents France, Norway and Kazakhstan. In July and August, the Blue Team also completed three high-profile test matches against the two KHL clubs Metallurg Magnitors and Vityaz. The clash against Magnitorsk is scheduled for July 24th, while the duels against Vityaz will take place on July 29th and August 4th.

The Italian national ice hockey team has long since turned its focus to the final tournament for Olympic qualification. Next Monday, Coach Stefan Mair will ask the Blue Team to take to the ice for training together for the first time.
