Ralph Intranuovo becomes a "White Weasel"

A few months ago, Intranuovo scored the decisive goal in the 92nd minute of the longest Italian play-off final of all time between Asiago and HC Pustertal. But the 37-year-old Italian-Canadian also played a key role at Asiago. Last season, he scored 13 points in 16 play-off games, while Intranuovo contributed 36 points in 36 championship games. In the 2009/10 season, when Asiago also became champions, there were 42 points during the championship (35 appearances) and 14 in the play-offs from 16 appearances.

Intranuovo's career began in the OHL in 1990-91. At that time, the 1,74 meter tall, 86 kilogram center ran for Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and collected 232 scorer points in 328 games. This was followed by stints in the AHL (Cape Breton Oilers, Hamilton Bulldogs), the IHL (Manitobe Moose) and even in the NHL, where Intranuovo played 22 games for the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was called up to the AHL All-Star Game twice.

The move to Europe followed in the 1999-2000 season. The Italian Canadian played 274 games in the DEL for the Adler Mannheim, the Moskitos Essen, the Iserlohn Roosters and the Kölner Haie and collected 191 points. In Austria he played for Linz, Klagenfurter AC and Olympija Ljubljana. With Linz, Intranuovo became champions in the 2002/03 season, and he also scored the most goals in the play-offs in the 2007/08 season. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he moved to the Italian league, where he immediately won two championship titles.

He had already taken the young players by the hand at Asiago, and he will also take on this task at the White Weasels,” says a broadcast from EV Bozen 84.

Intranuovo, who will wear his old number 9 again in the Weasels uniform, is expected to storm alongside Tuomo Harjula, who will thus have a center who can provide him with optimal care. You can rightly expect a lot from this duo.

There could be a return to Asiago for Intranuovo as part of the Continental Cup, where the 37-year-old could put on the jersey of his old employer.
