From January 9th to 11th, ice hockey will take center stage in Milan, as the still-unfinished Santa Giulia Arena will be inaugurated. The games will serve as a dress rehearsal for the Olympic Games in February. The IHL Serie A lineup is already complete with HC Asiago, Rittner Buam, Wipptal Broncos, and reigning champions Cortina. SV Kaltern can also plan for Milan in the next tier, while Alleghe (36), Varese (33), HC Eppan (31), and Valpellice (30) are expected to compete for the remaining three spots.
If everything goes according to plan, four South Tyrolean teams could get a taste of the Olympic atmosphere in Milan. Given this, it's quite likely that numerous local fans will make the trip to Lombardy to cheer on their athletes. As the Italian Ice Sports Federation (FISG) announced on Friday, tickets are now on sale. To the delight of supporters, they are available starting at two euros, while admission to the Serie A final costs a maximum of twelve euros.

It is almost certain that SV Kaltern will open the program on Friday, January 9th, when the first and fourth-placed teams from the IHL face off in the first semifinal. The following day, at 11:00 AM, the second and third-placed teams will meet, before the game between HC Asiago and Cortina takes place in the afternoon (3:30 PM). In the second Serie A semifinal, the Ritten Buam will take on the Wipptal Broncos (8:00 PM).
Feltre cannot defend title
The cup winner and the winner of the 92nd Scudetto will be determined on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Cortina enters the Serie A competition as the defending champion. Feltre, who defeated Kaltern in last season's cup final, have not qualified for the final round.Edit Profile
