Thomas Tragust moves to Fassa

This is a return for the 29-year-old goalkeeper, as he had already played with the ice hockey club from Trentino for two years from 2007 to 2009. Back then, the people of Fassa had already placed their bet on the South Tyrolean, who returned to Italy in 2007 after a year in the North American youth league NAHL, where he played with the Texas Tornados. And rightly so, as Tragust made it to the playoff semi-finals with the Ladin team in his first year.

Now the club from Trentino is once again relying on the local goalkeeper, who had a very mixed season with HC Neumarkt last year. In recent years, the “number one” from Vinschgau has always been able to put itself in the spotlight. He was able to celebrate winning the Serie A2 title twice in his career, first with Vipiteno in the 2010/2011 season and then with Eppan (2013/14). In addition to the USA and Italy, Tragust also gained experience in Germany and Austria. In the 2009/10 season, “Tschombi” was under contract with ESV Kaufbeuren in the second German league, but in 2012/13 he was with HC Innsbruck in the EBEL.

Tragust has also been part of the Italian national team for years. Wearing the azure blue jersey, he was one of the main actors at the First Division World Cup in both 2009 and 2011, where the “Azzurri” secured victory in their group.
