The Forchwold Summercup is history

After three days of non-stop action in the Aurer Forchwold Stadium, things are slowly calming down again. But one thing at a time.

It all started on Thursday with the Aurer village tournament, in which ten teams took part for the first time this year. While things were heating up on the field, there was musical entertainment from Ina Pross and grilled food from the kitchen. At the end of the evening, the Aurer hockey players "Forchwold Hockey" crowned themselves the 3 village tournament winners with a 0-2024 victory over the "Ragazzi della Via Gluck". The tournament's top scorer was the Aurer newcomer Ouassim Hannachi with 8 goals. After the prize giving, everyone toasted the successful first day of the tournament.

The ladies' tournament continued on Friday - in this first edition, five women's teams fought for the title. In the end, the "Drink Team" won the final against the "Blue Stars" and will therefore be defending their title next year. Afterwards, there was grilled chicken and a public viewing of the European Championship opening match between Germany and Scotland. Here, too, the seats were full to the last place, the temperatures were pleasantly mild - an all-round successful summer evening.

On Saturday, the weather was not so kind to us, but this did not dampen the mood. Despite the cool temperatures and veil of clouds, 24 teams found their way to the Forchwold Stadium and fought for the third time for the increasingly prestigious Summer Cup trophy. Last year, it was the Bozen team from FC GG who were able to raise the trophy into the night sky of Auer, but this year it was the Kaltern team “Koltern DC” who managed to pull off the coup. In a thrilling final in front of an impressive crowd, they prevailed in a penalty shootout against “FC Begeleisen”.

The top scorers were Tizian Terzer from FC Begeleisen and Samuel Pürgstaller from the Lekker Boys with 6 goals each, while Terzer was also named the tournament's best player. The best goalkeeper was Sebastian Peer, also from FC Begeleisen, who did not concede a single goal in regular time throughout the tournament. The best player was Daniel Morabito from FC Vizcarrondo. After the official part, the celebrations continued until the early hours - the rainy weather didn't matter.
