The junior selection wants to cause a sensation.

These South Tyrolean footballers are going to the regional tournament

The Oberliga and Landesliga are on pause this week. The reason for this is the regional tournament: around 80 young South Tyrolean footballers travel to Liguria to take part in the prestigious tournament.

The Bolzano Autonomous Football Committee is ready with its selections for the 60th regional tournament in Liguria. The departure is scheduled for Friday, March 22nd, with the first games taking place on Saturday, March 23rd.

CPA Bozen takes part with the following teams: U19 (coach Marco Nicoletti), U17 (coach Manuel Obrist), U15 (coach Wolfgang Crepaz), women (coach Fabio Pelanda).

A tough group

The headquarters of the South Tyrolean teams is in Lavagna (Genoa), while the games are played in Chiavari. The four South Tyrolean teams were drawn into a difficult group and have to compete against Lazio, Emilia Romagna and Veneto in their respective categories. For men, the first place in each group and the three best runners-up reach the quarterfinals; for women, the first and second place in the three groups of four and the first in the two groups of three reach the quarterfinals.

The women's team is also ready to go.

On Saturday our selections will face Lazio (9.30 a.m. U15, 11.30 a.m. U17, 14.15 p.m. Women, 16.45 p.m. U19). On Sunday they face Emilia Romagna, while the group stage ends on Monday with the game against Veneto. The regional tournament then continues with the quarter-finals (27/3), the semi-finals (28/3) and the final (29/3).
