FC Südtirol meets Piacenza

The game between FC Südtirol and Piacenza will be kicked off by referee Bindoni from Venice at 15 p.m. It is a very special game for the coach of FC Südtirol, Giovanni Stroppa, as he did not play for the visiting club in the 1990s and scored three goals in 63 games.

The new FCS coach cannot rely on the long-term injured Alessandro Campo or the two suspended Simone Iacoponi and Thomas Albanese on Sunday. It is also still questionable whether Amedeo Calliari, who was recently signed, will play as the league association will most likely not release the midfielder in time.

The starting line-up will therefore include goalkeeper Alessandro Iacobucci with the four defenders Cascone, Franchini, Martin and Grea, or Kiem. In midfield, Uliano will act as a playmaker, with Alessandro Furlan and Michael Bacher at his side.

Nicola Ferrari is likely to be used as the only real striker, while Manuel Fiwickeler and Andrea Schenetti should come on the wings.

Piacenza, on the other hand, was badly hit by alleged involvement in the betting scandal. The club, led by sporting director Marco Lanna, only became active on the transfer market three days ago; coach Francesco Monaco only took over the team ten days ago.

Nevertheless, Piacenza was able to bring in nine “new ones”, namely the defenders Di Bella (from Livorno), Melucci (played for Cittadella, Grosseto and Ascoli), the midfielders Parola (Novara), Pani (Triestina), Esposito (Inter), Curcio ( Grosseto) and the strikers Volpi (Livorno) and Zdrincu (Ardea, Romania). Of these new acquisitions, Di Bella, Melucci, Pani, Parola and Volpe will play against FC Südtirol.

Among Piacenza's confirmed regular players, goalkeeper Mario Cassano, who has ten appearances in Serie A and 164 in Serie B, stands out. Striker Andres Guzman scored 34 goals in Serie B for Ternana, Messina, Crotone, Spezia and Piacenza and also scored once in Serie A.
