Victories against highly promoted teams such as Virtus Bozen or Alense testify to the great quality of the team, which has turned the local football field on the Talfer into a fortress, as a total of only one game was lost in front of its own audience. EPPAN: Tried and tested methods pay off (5th place, 7 wins, 4 draws, 5 losses, 25 points) For years, Eppan was considered by the experts to be relegated at the beginning of the season, for years the Überetscher club actually fought against the grain, but for years it was ultimately able to stay in the league and thus repeatedly overturned all opinions and forecasts. Despite a small improvement in the quality of the squad at the start of the season, it was not to be expected that the Eppan team would do so well this season. With 25 points, the Überetscher are in fifth place and are therefore a full ten points away from the “hot” zone. Many factors were decisive for the strong performance. There is the signing of Michael Osti, who, as a thoroughbred striker, has eliminated Eppan's offensive weakness in recent years. There are youth players who not only put everything into the game from game to game, but are also extremely gifted in football, such as Stefan Clementi (18 years old and eight goals). But, as has been usual in recent years, one element was decisive for the strong departure: the experienced, outstanding footballer and extremely important team member Iardino-Avancini-Mayr-Shkelqim Lekiqi was spared from injuries and, with a few exceptions, was always part of the team Game - Together with the many new individual components, this puzzle resulted in a fruitful mix that could also establish itself in the north of the league table in the long term. But the “Mortiner” are currently about as far away from the real last place as the snow from the Bolzano Christmas market – in numbers: 11 points. The sensational 6th final place from last season seems to be within reach again this year. Daniel Lanthaler & Co.'s recipe for success? In the important, so-called six-point games, the Passierians mostly managed to put in top performances. Against the teams behind the “Mortiners”, player-coach Martin Saltuari's team only had to admit defeat to Mori and Lavis (at the start of the season) - otherwise St. Martin achieved six wins and three draws. While other top teams repeatedly faltered against supposedly weaker teams, the “Psairer boys” showed strong nerves, patience and the infamous callousness.
