Fabian Tait shoots FC Südtirol to victory

FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa did not have to do without the long-term injured Coser and Sarzi in Gorgonzola, but also the injured Crovetto, Girasole and Lima. The trainer gave midfielder Michael Cia his trust for the first time this season and therefore relied on three South Tyroleans in the starting line-up. Fabian Tait and Hannes Fink were deployed on the flanks.

It was also Cia and Co. who initially set clear accents. After captain Furlan's first shot on goal, the ball found its way into the net for the first time in the seventh minute. After preparatory work by midfielder Cia, who made his season debut, and winger Tait, Bertoni pushed in to make it 1-0. Then Fink and again Furlan tested the opposing goalkeeper. After that, Giana Erminio became more dangerous, but the FCS defense held tight at the back until the break.

Tait's first professional goal brings victory

After the break, the Stroppa team got going again like a fire department: In the 47th minute, the advanced Fabian Tait pushed the ball over the line from close range. This was the 22-year-old Salurner's first professional goal. But the White-Reds' joy was short-lived, as two minutes later Tommaso Augello reduced the score to 1-2 after a corner. After that, FC Südtirol held the scepter firmly in their hands. In the 58th minute everything seemed to be going well for the guests when Giana captain Marco Biraghi was sent off after a rude foul on Furlan. But with one more man on the field, the FCS suddenly had major difficulties in building up the game. The Lombards, on the other hand, threw everything forward, but repeatedly failed against the defensive bulwark of the White-Reds. They finally managed to save the narrow lead over time.

Fabian Tait shoots FC Südtirol to victory

FC Südtirol scored full points for the first time in more than a month. The White-Reds celebrated a hard-fought 2-1 win against seventh-placed Giana Erminio and climbed back into the top half of the rankings.
