Football player in luck: wedding with long-time girlfriend

13 days after the bitter European Championship quarter-final exit, Kai Havertz still has a wonderful reason to celebrate.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old married his long-time girlfriend Sophia (25), as both announced on Instagram. The couple shared a few snapshots of the celebration at Bensberg Castle in Bergisch Gladbach. Sophia Havertz, formerly Weber, wrote on one of them: "18.07.24 - forever" with a white heart.

Numerous football colleagues such as DFB keeper Marc-André ter Stegen (32), Dortmund's Julian Brandt and Leipzig's Benjamin Henrichs were among the first to congratulate him, and the striker's club, Arsenal FC, also sent their congratulations.

The model and the attacker, who previously scored goals for Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea FC, have been together since 2018 and got engaged during last summer's vacation.
