A landslide victory for FCS Women and much more

The FCS Women celebrate their second victory in a row: in the 24th matchday, the ninth of the second half of the season, of the Serie C (District B) for women, the White-Reds prevailed at home against Venezia Calcio 1985, the team from the lagoon that is weaker in the table, with a confident 4-0 (2-0).

Prearo opened the scoring in the ninth minute, and did so in a curious way: initially, she missed from the penalty spot, but later in the game, another penalty was awarded for handball – on the second attempt, Prearo kept her cool and scored to make it 9-1. Around ten minutes later, the hosts made it 0-2 – Kiem was quickest to react in the hustle and bustle following a Tschöll free kick and fired the ball into the net (0').

After the restart, the girls, under the direction of Mr. Castellaneta, kept the pressure on. Bielak, in a strong move, found Prearo, who in turn found Stockner. The latter didn't need to be asked twice and scored to make it 3-0 (57'). Kiem again sealed the 4-0 final score: after a Santin corner and a Tschöll shot that was only parried forward, she pounced for a brace (73'). Also worth mentioning were two shots from Stockner that hit the woodwork, which could have further increased the score.

With six games left to play, the city rivals of today's opponents of FCS Women, Venezia FC, are leading the table – three points ahead of Vicenza (who have played one game more) and six points ahead of the White-Reds.

What else was going on?

In Serie A has Eva Schatzer Juventus lost a dramatic 2-3 match against Inter Milan. When the Varna midfielder was substituted 10 minutes before the end, the score was 1-1 in the top match. Como celebrated a 2-0 win at Napoli in the relegation round. Zara Kramzar (28') and Alex Kerr (64') scored the goals. The Naturno native Nadine Nischler played at Como.
