FCS Women: Setback in the promotion race

The FCS ladies have suffered another defeat after eight wins in a row.

During the 21st matchday, the sixth of the second half of the season, of Serie C (District B), the girls under the leadership of Mr Marco Castellaneta lost 1:2 away to promotion rivals Vicenza Calcio Femminile. This means that FCS falls to third place in the Serie C table. The gap to leaders Venezia is 4 points.

The White-Reds took the lead early on, after a pass from Costisella, it was Santin who scored with a beautiful diagonal shot with her right foot to make it 1-0 (9th minute) - but the hosts responded immediately: Ponte won a duel in the FCS box and scored from a turn to quickly equalize at 1-1 (12th minute). The winning goal for Vicentine came in the final phase, again from Ponte: her tap-in from close range found its way into the net to make it 2-1 (83rd minute).

Otherwise not much going on

In Serie A, Eva Schatzer was on the bench in Juventus' 2-2 draw with Milan. Nadine Nischler will not play for Como until Monday evening. In the Austrian Bundesliga, Elisa Pfattner played the full 0-0 draw between Neuglanbach and Blau-Weiß Linz.
