English week in Pescara: The FCS schedule

FC Südtirol faces a busy week in Serie B. After the convincing home win against Reggiana on Saturday, the next match is in Pescara on Wednesday.

The White and Reds' sixth game of the season will take place in Pescara at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The newly promoted team hasn't exactly had an ideal start to Serie B (4 points), but they're significantly stronger at home than away. Pescara also boasts a South Tyrolean in Lorenzo Sgarbi, a native of Bolzano.

However, FCS shouldn't underestimate their opponents from the Marche region. New coach Vincenzo Vivarini has interesting players at his disposal, including U21 national team goalkeeper Sebastiano Desplanches, midfielder Fabrizio Caligara, and top Trentino talent Giacomo Olzer (already scored three goals) from Mori.

The 21-year-old Trentino native Giacomo Olzer is in top form at Pescara.

Team manager Emiliano Bortoluzza also faces a particular challenge during busy weeks. He has to plan arrivals and departures in a way that makes sporting and logistical sense. This week, that means a final training session on Tuesday in Rungg, followed by a flight to Pescara. The return trip isn't scheduled until Thursday. The next league game is scheduled for Sunday at home against Empoli.
