Fabian Tait is the heart and soul of FC Südtirol. This season, however, the Salurn captain wants to reach a very specific milestone.

Fabian Tait is entering his third Serie B season this year. "I have been with FC Südtirol for 10 years now. I have never experienced as few changes in the squad as this year. We are practically a well-rehearsed team," said the 31-year-old in SportNews-Conversation during the training camp in Ridnauntal.

The main goal of Tait & Co. is to stay in the league. "The first big thing I want to achieve this year is to become the club's record player. That would be a very special honor for me. Hans-Rudi Brugger is omnipresent here at FCS. Since I started here, I have always seen pictures of him in the catacombs," explained Tait.

2 things are (still) missing for the perfect career

The man from the Lower Austrian region has played 361 games for FCS. Tait is still seven games behind the legendary Psair captain and right-back Hans-Rudi Brugger (368). This should be just a formality. And what else does he dream of? "I have played in all leagues in Italy, from the regional league to Serie B. There is only one left to go," smiled Tait. Of course, he means Serie A.

And how does the midfielder assess the level there? "You could probably keep up with the lowest teams to some extent. But then not anymore. The individual quality and the pace are simply much higher in Serie A," says Tait.
