The air is getting thinner and thinner for FC Südtirol.
FC Südtirol ended 2025 with a defeat. This means the situation is becoming increasingly dire for the Red and Whites at the bottom of the Serie B table.

The situation remains unchanged: FC Südtirol has been waiting for a win for exactly three months and now 13 games. On Saturday, FCS lost 0-1 to Juve Stabia. In the table, Fabrizio Castori's team has slipped into a relegation playoff spot, with the bottom five teams currently separated by only three points.
First things first: FC Südtirol didn't put on a bad away performance in Castellammare di Stabia (near Naples). However, the return on investment was once again too meager. FCS lacks penetration in attack and a Plan B. South Tyrol's only professional club is simply too predictable going forward in their 3-5-2 formation. This is also increasingly drawing criticism from coach Castori.

Andrea Giorgini (who played in Bolzano until the summer) and his teammates had little trouble defending their lead. Juve Stabia, strong at home and coached by former Milan defender Ignazio Abate, weren't necessarily the better team, but they were more effective than FC Südtirol. Among those making the early goal conceded was goalkeeper Marius Adamonis – his second such error this season.
The highlights
| Martini, early start | That's a blow! Martini's game is over; the FCS midfielder has to leave the field after just eight minutes with an ankle injury. Casiraghi unexpectedly comes on for him early in the match. |
| Adamonis blunders | Starting eleven comeback player Pietrangeli plays a fatal cross-field pass that eventually finds its way to Maistro – and goalkeeper Adamonis doesn't cover himself in glory when Maistro shoots. 1-0 for Juve Stabia after 19 minutes. |
| Tait takes heart | What a screamer from substitute Tait in the 85th minute! The Salurn player unleashed a volley from 25 meters and watched as his powerful shot narrowly missed the goal. That was close. |
FC Südtirol's next match isn't until the new year: On January 10th, the Red and Whites will host Spezia Calcio at the Drusus Stadium. Then the... notable winter signing Simone Verdi It will be their first time participating. The fact is: FCS desperately needs points.
