Davide Possanzini used the long international break to familiarize the many new players with his system. The FCS coach expressed his delight with the team's progress at Friday's pre-match press conference ahead of the home game against newly promoted Ascoli. At the same time, Possanzini praised the opponent. Ascoli, also a newly promoted team, sits in fifth place, just one point behind FC Südtirol. This makes Saturday's home game a first top-of-the-table clash.

FC Südtirol is currently tied for second place with Mantova. Marco Varnier and Niklas Pyyhtiä will still be unavailable on Saturday, as will... Bjarki BjarkasonSimone Davi will take over his role on the left wing. The player from Leifers will thus be in FCS's Serie B starting eleven for the first time this season. Possanzini had already announced this. His brother Federico Davi and midfielder Kevin Zeroli, however, are carrying knocks. "We don't want to take any risks here," said Possanzini.

"Our goal remains to stay in the league." FCS coach Davide Possanzini

Rares Burnete, Fabio Rispoli, and Giacomo Stabile were away on international duty during the break. Burnete scored for Romania's U21 team in their 1-7 defeat against Spain, while the two young Italians played for Italy's U20 squad. Now it's back to league action. "It's normal that expectations have risen after our start to the season. But our goal remains to avoid relegation," explained Possanzini. FC Südtirol expects up to 5.000 spectators for Saturday's top-of-the-table clash and advises everyone to arrive at the Drusus Stadium early.
