Brusco injury: Obermais hopes for the best

The return of striker Manuel Brusco immediately had a significant impact on FC Obermais's game. However, the 28-year-old is now out again.

Manuel Brusco demonstrated how important he is to FC Obermais in the first few games of the current season. Although not fully fit after a long-term groin injury, the striker from Trentino immediately made his mark on the FCO game. Brusco was the club's first goalscorer in Serie D and secured the first win in the new league with his goal against Adriese (1-0). He provided the assist for the point against Portogruaro (1-1).

On Sunday, however, the striker suffered a setback. Brusco had to be substituted after 29 minutes with a muscle injury. The exact severity of the latest injury is not yet known. However, the club currently expects him to be out for "only" around three weeks.

The next opponent has a wild story behind him

Obermais' league campaign continues on Sunday (15 p.m.). Their opponents, FC Bassano, have had a chaotic recent past. Until 2018, they played in Serie C and had a powerful benefactor in Diesel boss Renzo Rosso. However, Rosso then merged the club with Vicenza.

A new club was founded in Bassano del Grappa, competing in the first amateur league. After several name changes and annual championship titles, the club merged with the clubs Cartigliano and Eurocassola in 2023. Because Cartigliano was playing in Serie D at the time, they took over their license. However, Bassano was promoted to Serie D on a sporting basis, and Cartigliano transferred its license to Montebelluna, which, however, withdrew from Serie D after the death of its president and sponsor.
