Last minute point: FC Südtirol plays a draw in Como

There were three reunions for the FCS at the Sinigalia Stadium in Como: In addition to Cia, who has had to put up with a place in the stands since his failed move to South Tyrol, ex-FCS player Andrea Schenetti was on the field from the start. Como's sports director is Mauro Gibellini, who worked in Bolzano for years.

The first minutes of the game clearly belonged to the guests, who created the first chances with Testardi and Thiam. Afterwards, however, Como found his way into the game better and better. Donnaruma and Mendicino narrowly missed the opening goal. In the 30th minute, Mendicino tried again, but when he was alone in front of goalkeeper Marcone, he put the ball next to the goal. However, the 1-0 for Como was only postponed, because after 41 minutes Donnaruma did better and buried the ball in the FCS goal. However, the guests showed a quick reaction: Testardi was brought down in the penalty area and the referee consequently awarded a penalty. This had to be carried out twice, but both times Campo held his nerve and equalized just before half-time.

The game remained extremely entertaining in the second half. Although Como took control of the game, FC Südtirol always held back and caused danger with long-range shots. An inattention caused the Vecchi team to fall behind again after 67 minutes. After a Mendicino shot hit the crossbar, Donnaruma was there again and sent the ball over the line with a diving header. Now FC Südtirol was forced to increase the pressure again and did this primarily through Alessandro Campo, who repeatedly caused danger with his cross runs. It was also the offensive player from Moncalieri who got the ball at the corner flag three minutes before the end and then served the advanced Cappelletti. He didn't hesitate for long and scored the late equalizer. This was also the end of this exciting game.

Thanks to the point win, the FCS remains in third place in the table. The Como game was the start of an intensive week for the white-reds, with three championship games in just seven days. The supplementary game against Cuneo is on Wednesday and Reggiana is a guest in Bolzano on Sunday.

FC Südtirol remains unbeaten for the fifth game in a row: Third in the table drew 2-2 with Michael Cia's club. Donnaruma gave the home team the lead twice, but Campo and Cappelletti equalized a few minutes before the end.
