Paulaner Cup: amateur footballers play against FC Bayern

From now on, Paulaner, partner of FC Bayern, is once again giving all amateur footballers the chance to qualify for the Paulaner dream team: They will play against the stars of FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014, in front of thousands in the stadium and live on SPORT1.

At the Paulaner Cup, the jury is not looking for the best players, but for real guys. That's why this competition is an opportunity for all amateur footballers aged 18 and over. Just as the regional league footballer Michael Groß from ASC Sarntal impressively demonstrated in 2012 and Jakob Moriggl from SSV Naturns and Alexander Profanter from Villnöss in 2013.

More than just football

The stars also like the fact that the Paulaner Cup is about more than just football. Bayern captain Philipp Lahm emphasizes: “Professionals, amateurs, amateur footballers – we all share an enthusiasm for football: That’s why meeting the players of the Paulaner dream team is always something special for us. I hope that many amateur footballers will apply again and I'm looking forward to the participants' contributions. There were really great videos and stories there last year. So sign up, show us what you’re capable of and you’ll be on the team.”

Manuel Neuer says: “I think it's great that the Paulaner Cup is becoming really international, especially in the year of the World Cup. We are very lucky to have fans all over the world and are happy that so many are taking the chance to compete against us. So boys: register – we look forward to seeing you!”

Pep Guardiola, coach of FC Bayern Munich, had never experienced a game like this before: “It was a completely new experience for me last year: a game against amateurs from ten different countries. I think that’s great because we’ll be meeting fans from all over the world at the Paulaner Cup again this year: So register and be there at the Paulaner Cup.”

Germany's largest football casting is entering the fourth round. At the Paulaner Cup, amateurs play against the professionals from FC Bayern Munich - and like last year, South Tyrol's footballers have the chance to take part again this year.
