Scavone, De Luca & Co: This is what a South Tyrolean professional team would look like

Simon Laner's successor is Manuel De Luca. The Pfattner, who works for Sampdoria, is the first South Tyrolean to play in Serie A in 9 years. Last week, De Luca was allowed to play as a joker for the Ligurians in the highest Italian football league.

The women are ahead of the men here. Katja Schroffenegger has long been a fixture in Serie A. What's more: the 31-year-old from Steinegger even plays for the Italian national team. She earns her living in Florence, where she is starting her second season with Fiorentina. With Juventus talent Elisa Pfattner (18), another South Tyrolean is represented in Serie A. Melanie Kuenrath from Burgeis, however, has left the first division for Trent (Serie B). By the way: Women's football has had professional status in Italy since July 1st. Things are also looking up for the men when it comes to South Tyrolean professionals. A complete South Tyrolean team could now be set up. SportNews introduces the team that manages without FCS professionals (Fabian Tait, Simone Davi, Manuel Filehner). Tor Simon Beccari (23 | WSG Tirol, Bundesliga): The man from Bolzano has made one appearance in the Bundesliga (in the Weststadion in Vienna against Rapid). Since then, however, he has only been used in the Wattener's second team, which plays in the third-class Tyrol regional league. Abwehr Jonas Heinz (18 | Sassari Torres, Serie C): From Naturns to Sardinia. This is how the path of the FCS talent can be described. Heinz will take his first steps in professional football at the traditional club from Sassari after playing sporadically for the FCS professionals last year.

Max Reinthaler (27 | Wehen Wiesbaden, 3rd league): The Algunder is now an old hand in the professional business. The central defender has settled in the third division in Germany for a few years now. This year he is playing for Wehen Wiesbaden, which is one of the promotion candidates. Max Reinthaler has been traveling as a professional in Germany for years.

Lukas Mazagg (22 | SV Meppen, 3rd league): Lukas Mazagg, however, has his first professional appearance under his belt. The Obervinschger has made the jump to the 3rd league to Meppen. The central defender was trained in Rosenheim, Würzburg and Burghausen.

Niccolò Gabrieli (20 | Olbia, Serie C): A full-back who fought his way into professional football via Serie D. Gabrieli played at FCS and Fiorentina in his youth. He is now facing his first professional season in Serie C in Olbia. His transfer rights lie with FC Südtirol. mittelfeld Simon Straudi (23 | Austria Klagenfurt, Bundesliga): The Pusterer is back on Lake Wörthersee, where he achieved promotion to the Bundesliga two years ago. Straudi then went back to Bremen, but the breakthrough in Germany was not achieved. He is now a regular with the Carinthians, who are coached by Austrian icon Peter Pacult. Emanuele Zuelli (20 | Juventus U23, Serie C): The Bolzano native with Serie B experience (for Chievo Verona) is a talented midfielder who could still move in the final transfer days. Clubs from Serie B are after Zuelli, who was also in the Juventus professional squad last year. So far he has only been used in Turin for the U23s in Serie C.

Manuel Scavone (35 | SSC Bari, Serie B): Another candidate for change. “Scavo” is the veteran among South Tyrol’s professionals. However, he currently doesn't play a role at Bari and a move back to FC Südtirol has failed at the club. It is quite possible that the midfielder will change clubs in the last days of August.

David Wieser (20 | Pro Sesto, Serie C): The Val Gardena native is a newcomer to the professional business. Last year the midfielder played for Bologna's U19s and is now facing his first third division season at Pro Sesto. Wieser was trained at FCS and Inter, where his transfer rights still lie. Storm Lorenzo Sgarbi (21 | AC Renate, Serie C): Despite his young age, the Bolzano striker is entering his third season as a professional. Last year he was relegated with Legnago, now Renate is probably aiming for higher table positions. His player passport is in Naples, with the glorious SSC Napoli. Manuel De Luca (24 | Sampdoria): After 10 goals for Perugia in Serie B, Pfattner can now play in Serie A. There was interest from Germany in the summer, but De Luca has made his mark at Sampdoria. Coach Marco Giampaolo rewarded strong preparation with the South Tyrolean's first first league appearance.

Also in professional football: Federico Davi (20 | Arzignano Valchiampo, Serie C), Elisa Pfattner (18 | Juventus Women, Serie A), Katja Schroffenegger (31 | Fiorentina Women, Serie A)
