For years, Maria Riesch and Marcus Höfl were a dream couple in Germany. Now, the two are in a wild love affair.

It was news that caused a stir in the German sports and celebrity scene. A year ago, ski queen Maria Riesch and her husband Marcus Höfl announced that their relationship had ended after 13 years of marriage. Riesch quickly fell in love again and is now her new boyfriend – cruise ship manager Johann Schrempf – on cloud nine. And now her ex-husband Marcus Höfl has found happiness in love again.

However, his new relationship is somewhat curious. Höfl is back in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend Marion Popp. The two were previously a couple and have a son together (19). After their split, Höfl fell in love with skier Maria Riesch, while Popp recently split with former DFB boss Wolfgang Niersbach. Now the two have reunited.

“It feels good all around,” Höfl told the Picture. "And again, completely different from our first relationship. More mature and more relaxed." There were already rumors of a relationship revival in the spring, and now Höfl and Popp have confirmed it. The two were always in contact because of their son, and the fire of love began to flare up again in November 2024.

Höfl was going through a difficult time at the time, as his father was diagnosed with cancer and died a few months later. Marion supported the sports manager tremendously, Höfl says. "Friendship slowly turned into love again," he says.
