The Snowboard World Cup is stopping in Carezza again this year

The freestyle specialists traditionally kick off in mid-August in New Zealand. In contrast to last year, this time it is not Cardrona, but Snow Park that is the venue for the first World Cup of the season. For the boardercrossers, however, the starting signal falls on the second weekend in December in Montafon, Austria, where Algunder Omar Visintin celebrated his first World Cup victory last year.

For Roland Filehner and Co., the World Cup season begins on home soil: For the third time in a row, a parallel giant slalom will take place on the Karerpass (December 14th). In 2011, Roland Filehner climbed to the highest podium, but last year he had to settle for a thankless fourth place. There are no World Cup races planned on Italian soil for boardercrossers and freestyle snowboarders.

However, the highlight of the 2013-14 season is undoubtedly the Russian Olympic Games, which will be held in Sochi from February 7th to 23rd. For the first time, medals will also be awarded in slopestyle and parallel slalom.

Marco Grigis and Co. will finally end their season on March 7th with the last slopestyle competition in Kreischberg, Austria, while the World Cup finals for boardercross and raceboarders will take place in La Molina on the same weekend.
