Manuel Fischnaller has scored nine goals in 17 appearances for Trapani in the current Serie C season. The player from Signat, who is spending his first season in Sicily, is not only his team's top scorer, but also the third-highest scorer in the league, behind Cosimo Chiricò (11) and Guido Gomez (10).

But as well as things are going for "Fish" on a personal level, Trapani is in deep trouble. The Sicilians were already handed eight penalty points before the season even started. Seven more followed a few days ago, resulting in a total deduction of 15 points. The targeted fight for promotion to Serie B is now virtually impossible. Instead, Trapani is stuck in the relegation zone for the time being. To make matters worse, they recently suffered a 2-1 defeat against Latina.

Perugia is aggressively pursuing Fischnaller

Is Fischnaller considering a move due to the chaos in Trapani? Perugia certainly hopes so and are determined to lure the South Tyrolean to Umbria. According to several media reports, the club has identified Fischnaller as their number one transfer target.

From a sporting perspective, a move wouldn't represent a quantum leap for Fischnaller. Perugia is currently 15th in Group B of Serie C and is also fighting to avoid relegation.
