The Giorgini successor comes from the Serie C

FCS sporting director has brought in a young defender from Serie C in search of a successor for Andrea Giorgini, who left for Juve Stabia.

Davide Mancini joins FC Südtirol from Campobasso. The 20-year-old central defender is on loan from the third-division club from southern Italy. On Friday before the Sampdoria match, FC Südtirol coach Fabrizio Castori had already announced the arrival of a young Serie C defender.

Mancini, like Castori, originally hails from the Marche region and was primarily trained at Parma. Last year, the young defender earned a regular starting place at Campobasso in the fall before playing no part in the second half of the season.

After the loan expires, FCS has an option to buy Mancini, who will wear the number 4 for FCS.

Contract with Shiba terminated

Also on deadline day, the club announced that Cristian Shiba's contract had been terminated. The defender, who hasn't played a single game for FCS, can now look for a new employer.
