Obermais coach Toccoli: “Give the boys a compliment”
FC Obermais picked up another point at home against Brian Lignano on Sunday. Coach Flavio Toccoli relied on a young team and was not disappointed by the talent he brought to the table. Raphael Unterthurner made his Serie D starting debut.

"I have to compliment the boys, especially the young players. They did very well," said Flavio Toccoli after the 1-1 draw against the top team from Lignano. The FCO coach started with Tizian Stecher (17), Samuel Villgrattner (19), Marlind Bahaj (19), and Raphael Unterthurner (19). Over the course of the match, two more youngsters, Michael Kofler (18) and Stefan Turini (18), entered the game.
"I'd also like to praise the substitutes. I'm really pleased with their performance," said Toccoli about his substitutes – one of whom, Manuel Brusco, also scored the goal.
Unterthurner makes his starting eleven debut
It was a special game for Unterthurner, who made his first Serie D start. The 19-year-old moved from Riffian Kuens, who were relegated from the Landesliga (!), to Obermais in the summer and made his debut in Italy's fourth division ten days ago in Bassano. His first appearance was followed by his debut on the Lahn River, where Unterthurner played the entire game.Raphael Unterthurner celebrated his starting debut with a point. © P. Schwienbacher
Next Sunday, Obermais will face Calvi Noale. In the town of Noale, near Venice with a population of 16.000, the South Tyroleans are – at least on paper – the favorites. Calvi Noale has only collected one point. Toccoli doesn't want to think about that and sets the tone: "We have to keep working hard. The season is still very long."Edit Profile
