A Bolzano final for the Upper League Cup

The two best South Tyrolean top league teams will decide the cup victory between themselves: Both Bozner FC and Virtus Bozen advanced to the final on Wednesday evening.

FC Bozen remains the surprise team of the season. The Oranges are currently third in the league and have now reached the Oberliga Cup final. Hugo Pomella's young squad defeated St. Georgen 2-1 at the Bozen Talerwiesen stadium, after leading 2-0 at halftime.

In the Oberliga Cup final, FC Bozen will face Virtus Bozen on December 13th. The former Serie D club, currently second in the Oberliga, prevailed against newly promoted Ahrntal after a goalless 90 minutes, winning on penalties. The visitors dominated a match with few scoring opportunities.

Oberliga Cup: semi-finals

Bozner FC – St. Georgen 2:1
1:0 Fratucello (20th), 2:0 Guerra (40th), 2:1 Carlini (69th)

Ahrntal – Virtus Bozen 0:0 (6:7 after penalty shootout)
