In the fourth-to-last match of the current season, the Pustertal team faced relegation-threatened Latzfons Verdings on Saturday and celebrated a true goal-scoring spectacle at home: Bruneck defeated the Eisacktal team 6-0, temporarily taking the lead in the standings. However, Ahrntal (against Chienes) and Val Gardena (against South Wine Road) have a chance to counterattack on Sunday and push Bruneck back from the top spot.
The hosts laid the foundation for victory early on, but the game was finally decided by a furious phase starting in the 75th minute. Thomas Piffrader scored his second goal to make it 4-0, before Patrick Bacher (76th) and Luca Palanga (79th) increased the lead to 6-0 within minutes.
While Bruneck now roars from the top, the air is getting thinner for Latzfons Verdings. Relegation now seems only possible with a small miracle: They currently trail the safe 13th place in the table, currently occupied by Schenna, by four points. And Schenna could also pull further ahead on Sunday.
Latsch and Terlan win
Latsch and Lana faced off in the middle of the table. For both teams, the only thing at stake at this stage of the season is the position. Latsch won 2-0, climbing to fifth place. The goals were scored by Dominik Mair (14th) and Alex Kiem (56th).In the match between Terlan and Tscherms/Marling, Terlan already looked like the sure winner after 51 minutes – but Tscherms made the game even more exciting with a strong final spurt. Niki Lochmann and Mirko Muraro brought Tscherms back to 3-2, before Robin Gagliardi headed in a goal to make it 4-2. Fabio Zecchini's late goal to make it 4-3 in the 90th minute revived Tscherms' hopes, but that was ultimately the end of it.
