State League: Freienfeld makes no progress

The first of two rescheduled matches in the South Tyrolean regional league took place on Tuesday evening. Bottom-of-the-table Freienfeld failed to secure any points.

The first of two rescheduled matches took place on Tuesday on the artificial turf pitch at the Brixen youth center. Natz and Freienfeld faced off there after their game on Sunday had to be cancelled. The top Landesliga match between Naturns and Bruneck (Merano/Confluenza) follows on Wednesday.

In the end, Natz prevailed 2-1. The Eisack Valley team secured a comfortable victory with goals from Leo Tauber (29th minute) and Lukas Mayr (89th minute), before Freienfeld managed to pull one back in stoppage time. This defeat dashed another opportunity for the Wipp Valley team to climb out of the relegation zone. With seven points from 14 games, Freienfeld remains at the bottom of the table. Only Schenna (4 points) has fewer points.
