On Thursday, the traditional village tournament took place in Auer. In the evening sun, 10 teams competed for fame, honor, and recognition. While the players performed their magic on the pitch, there were plenty of refreshing drinks and grilled food from the Aurer Krampuss off the pitch. Ultimately, last year's winners prevailed, and Hockey Auer won the village tournament for the second time.
On Saturday, Forchwold Stadium opened its doors again to host the fourth Summer Cup. New this year was the women's tournament, the Ladies Cup, which was also held on the same day. Despite the hot temperatures, the tournament was characterized by high intensity and quality of play. This may have been helped by the fact that the players were able to cool off in the specially installed swimming pools.
By the evening, all the winners were decided: Sturm Gras won the Summer Cup in a thrilling final against last year's winner from Kaltern, Koltern DC. The Montaner team defeated Kaltern 1-0 in sudden-death overtime. A goal from goalkeeper Matthias Zelger (with only one field player and one goalkeeper per team remaining on the field) proved decisive.
Mente Ubriache win Ladies Cup
The great footballers of Real Mente Ubriache won the Ladies Cup, while FC Porto Dio won the Flip Cup off the pitch. The individual awards went to Julian Dezini (1. FC Aussenrist) as best goalkeeper, Matthias Zelger (AVT Sturm Gras) as best player (MVP), top scorer Jan Obexer (Neumarktner Jungs), and Maxi Varesco (Rosnmahnor) as most beautiful player. The successful tournament day was celebrated late into the night with music from DJ Robl.
By the way: The 5-year anniversary edition of the Forchwold Summer Cup will take place on June 11th and 13th, 2026.
