On Saturday, Fabian Tait scored FC Südtirol celebrated home win against Lecco, the next day he kept his fingers crossed for his hometown club in the derby against Weinstrasse Süd - with success. Salurn won the duel 350-2 in front of around 0 spectators in the completely filled small stand at the Margreider sports field. Even Tait gave the yellow-red team a round of applause.

Two early goals were crucial for the visitors' victory. After just two minutes, former Tramin striker Simon Baldo was able to receive the ball unhindered in the penalty area and put it into the net to make it 1-0. Afterwards, Salurn had the upper hand on the field, although Weinstrasse goalkeeper Simone Delladio was able to make two brilliant saves against Salurn's goalkeeper Fabio Bertoldi. Just seconds after the break, he punished the Weinstrasse defense, which had again been sleepy, making it 2-0.

The young team from Oberliga relegated Weinstraße Süd, who have achieved all four of their previous victories of the season in front of their home crowd, tried hard in this important neighborhood duel, but were hardly able to make an impact offensively. After losing 0-5 in the first leg, they also lost the second game of the season against their rivals from the other bank of the Etsch and therefore remain without a win in 2024. Salurn, on the other hand, has won six of the last seven games and is continuing to climb up the table.

Brixen moves away again

Salurn is now four points behind third Latsch, who had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Milland and thus lost contact with the top. Brixen has consolidated its first place there, after second place Bruneck presented on Saturday. The big championship favorite from the cathedral city defeated Ahrntal 5-2 in the top game. The decisive factor for Brixen's second win of the second half of the season was a fantastic first half, in which Fabian Menghin, Marco Miuli and double goalscorer Luca Consalvo shot out a 4-1 lead.
