Naturns and Partschins celebrate in the national cup

Six round of 16 matches were played in the Austrian Cup on Wednesday evening. Naturno and Partschins celebrated prestigious victories.

The two Lower Vinschgau teams knocked St. Georgen and Tramin out of the regional cup. While the regional league team from Naturns defeated Jergina on penalties, the Oberliga team from Partschins (last year's cup finalists) also celebrated from the penalty spot against the Lower Land team just a few kilometers away.

Gitschberg Jochtal also celebrated a prestigious victory. The regional league team defeated Oberliga club Brixen 6-4 after a goal-fest in regular time. Regional league leaders Bruneck, on the other hand, were eliminated at home by Virtus Bozen (0-2).

Next week, the two remaining round of 16 matches are scheduled. The quarterfinals of the state cup will then take place in the second half of the season—that is, in mid-March.
