Two surprisingly high victories in the national cup

On Wednesday, the second round of the state cup took place – in pouring rain at times. A surprisingly large victory was achieved in a direct duel between two top-division teams.

With ten points from four games, the Bolzano FC started the new Oberliga season surprisingly well. However, the Oranges suffered a heavy defeat in the state cup on Wednesday. League rivals SSV Brixen won 6-0 on the Bozen valley meadows.

Both teams made a number of changes to their starting lineups, with Brixen's new striker Franck Kouentchi scoring a hat trick. Curiously, on Sunday, Brixen and Bozner FC had a 1-1 draw in the Oberliga. St Pauls also won 6-0 on Wednesday – against Landesliga newcomers GargazonDue to space constraints, the game had to be played in St. Pauls and not in Gargazon as originally planned.

In the eagerly awaited derby between the leaders of the 1st Amateur League (Group A), Kaltern, and Oberliga long-running hits Tram There was a clear 4-1 victory for the Unterlandler. Nalles against Terlano Two local rivals faced off. The regional league team ultimately prevailed 3-2 away. Thomas Albenberger scored a dream goal for Terlan with a free kick.

The matches between Val Gardena and St. Georgen and the Ridnauntal and Ahrntal selections had to be canceled due to weather conditions. The round of 16 matches will then take place on Wednesday, October 22.
