SV Kaltern regained home advantage. After trailing 0-2, the Überetsch team equalized to 2-2 in the final series against HC Aosta. Florian Wieser and his team won 2-1 in a penalty shootout on Saturday evening.
One thing is certain: The final series between Kaltern and Aosta is not only heated, but also very evenly matched. All four matches ended with just one goal difference. This time, there was even a penalty shootout, in which the four Aosta stars each had to admit defeat to Kaltern goalkeeper Samuel Rohregger. Oskari Siiki and Marko Virtala scored for the visitors.
Siiki put Kaltern ahead 1-0 in the first period. The 29-year-old Finn took advantage of a power play and scored with a beautiful long-range shot from the left side. In the final period, Aosta increased the pressure and equalized through Nicholas Nardella, who was completely unmarked on the power play. No more goals were scored in overtime. In the end, Kaltern's victory was a deserved one.
