The big reunion of Pat Morini and St. Georgen

Patrizio Morini was a coach at ASC St. Georgen for 11 years. On Saturday he will face his former club for the first time as an opponent in the cup final between Brixen and Jergina.

"It is definitely not a game like any other," says Patrizio Morini before the South Tyrolean Oberliga Cup final between SSV Brixen and St. Georgen. This will take place on Saturday at 14.30:XNUMX p.m. on the artificial turf pitch in Freienfeld. Morini announces: "It will be a football festival among friends."

However, the relationship between the Umbrian native and St. Georgen did not end on such a friendly note. After his departure, a lot of dirty laundry was washed. Morini, who is considered a highly professional and reached Serie D with the village club, then went to his home region of Umbria. Because he was not happy there, he returned to South Tyrol after just a few months. He is now in his second year at SSV Brixen. Last year, the cathedral city team won the regional league without losing a single game.

"We are looking forward to the final and want to redeem ourselves because we have not done well in terms of results recently." Patricia Morini

This year things are a little different in the top league. A relegation battle is on the cards. The cup final is a welcome change. "I won 10 out of 7 finals with St. Georgen. We are looking forward to the final and want to win it. Especially because Brixen has not been able to win a cup in the recent past," says Morini.

Brixen-Sturmtank Kore is fit

It will be a special game not only for Morini, but also for Alexandre Kore. The striker moved from St. Georgen to Brixen in the summer and was supposed to play a key role in the attack for the cathedral city team. That was because the Frenchman was out injured for a long time. Now he is finally in top shape and his goals should ensure that things go better in the future. "We had huge problems in the autumn converting our chances into goals. One reason for that is that Kore only played from the start for the first time on matchday 15," says Morini in good spirits.
