The bottom team in the state league is not giving up yet

The Landesliga's weekly matchday was scheduled for Wednesday, and the bottom-placed team showed strong signs of life.

Four months have passed since Riffian Kuens' last victory. On November 16, 2024, the Burggräfler team last took home three points after a 2-1 triumph over Tscherms Marling. Now Riffian has achieved its third win of the season – in a relegation clash against Kiens. Alex Sincich's team won 4-1 at home, clearly underscoring: We haven't given up yet.

Goals from Lukas Spechtenhauser, Antonio Capobianco, Philipp Bernard, and an own goal paved the way for Riffian to win. Despite the three points, however, the path remains a difficult one. Eleven points – the same number Burggräfler have earned so far – are still missing from safety. Therefore, a football miracle will still be needed for Riffian Kuens to play in the state league in the 2025/26 season.

Pure excitement at the top of the table

Things remain extremely tight at the top of the table! Naturno celebrated a 5-2 thrashing over Cermes Marling on Wednesday, with Matthias Bacher and Tobias Pichler scoring three and two goals respectively. Naturno thus capitalized on Brunico's blunder, which resulted in a 1-1 draw against Terlano.

With eight rounds to go, the top four teams – Bruneck (50 points), Ahrntal (50), Naturns (48), and Val Gardena (48) – are within two points of each other. It couldn't be more exciting.
