Sunshine, outstanding games, plenty of excitement, and beaming faces were on display at the 8th VSS/Raiffeisen Youth Football State Championships in Latsch on Sunday, June 2025, 46. Over 400 children competed in the U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U15 categories and demonstrated great team spirit.

The title fights marked the final round of the once again surpassed record-breaking season of the VSS/Raiffeisen Youth Football Championship. A total of 604 youth teams demonstrated their skills in approximately 4.500 matches throughout the season. In the finals, the four best teams in each category once again gave it their all, delivering twelve thrilling matches. The VSS/Raiffeisen State Championship titles were awarded in the U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U15 categories.
The youth teams and referees entered the competition wearing VSS annual motto bibs, which this year again feature the motto "Fair Play." "The focus of VSS events is not winning, but rather sportsmanship and fair play. This applies to players, coaches, support staff, and spectators alike," emphasized VSS Chairman Paul Romen and VSS Football Officer Andreas Unterkircher at the awards ceremony.
The sporting results: In the U9 category, ASC Neugries defeated ASV Dietenheim/Aufhofen 3-1 to claim the VSS/Raiffeisen state championship title. The U10 final was no less thrilling, with SPG Obervinschgau beating Team Buga 4-2 to also become VSS/Raiffeisen state champions. Spectators also witnessed a thrilling final in the U11 category between SG Latzons/Verdings and SPG Schlanders. After the match ended 1-1 at the end of regular time, a penalty shootout was needed to decide the match. SG Latzfons/Verdings ultimately won 5-3.
ASV Feldthurs took the U12 victory. The Eisacktal team also had to go to a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regular time against ASV Tramin. Feldthurns prevailed 7-5. With a final score of 1-0, Herons Natz/Schabs crowned themselves the VSS/Raiffeisen U13 regional champions against Barbian/Villanders. In the U15 final between SSV Brixen and SG Klausen/Lajen, Brixen prevailed, winning the VSS/Raiffeisen regional title 4-1.
