Victory against the bottom team: Bruneck marches ahead

Matchday 6 of the Landesliga kicked off on Saturday. SSV Bruneck continued its impressive run with another victory.

Six games, six wins – SSV Bruneck could hardly have imagined a better start to the season. On Saturday afternoon, the Pustertalers lived up to their role as favorites against bottom-placed Schenna, celebrating a commanding 2-0 victory in front of their home crowd. Thomas Piffrader (31') and Justin Pfeifer (69') scored for the league leaders, who were able to extend their lead over pursuers Olimpia Merano to five points, at least temporarily. The league's second-placed team can follow suit on Sunday at Voran Leifers (3:30 p.m.).

Terlan is also in close contact with the top spots. The Reds celebrated a late home win against Stegen (2-1). Peter Gostner headed the hosts into the lead shortly before halftime (45th minute), and Patrick Bacher equalized for the visitors (53rd minute). Finally, Thomas Albenberger held his nerve from the penalty spot to seal the three points for Terlan (90th minute). Terlan has nine points after six games and is currently fourth in the table.

Cherms Marling wrestles Natz down

A late decision also came in the duel between Gargazon and Salurn, who had to share the points. After falling behind 2-0, Gargazon turned the game around within minutes thanks to goals from Kevin Platzgummer (39th minute) and Daniele Zingale (45th minute), but shortly before the final whistle, the Etschtal team conceded a late penalty, making the final score 2-2 (90th minute). For Tscherms Marling, however, a penalty proved to be the golden moment of the match. Jonatan Flarer secured three important points for his team thanks to a converted penalty in the 55th minute against ASV Natz (1-0).
