Despite being outnumbered, Brixen continues to move inexorably

SSV Brixen remains the measure of all things in the national league. The league leaders celebrated their third win in a row against FC Gherdëina on Sunday evening.

Who else should displace SSV Brixen from the throne of the regional league? After Bruneck dropped points at Salurn in the afternoon, The leaders at FC Gherdëina showed no weakness and won 2-1. From the 69th minute onwards, the guests played with one man less because Dennis Nagler was shown the second yellow card.

Jan Martin Vinatzer opened the scoring in the 44th minute to the delight of the fans in attendance. Brixen came out of the locker room with a lot of speed after the break and scored the equalizer through Manuel Wachtler. After Nagler was sent off, it was Luca Consalvo who gave the SSV the next victory. Despite the majority, the Ladins were no longer able to turn the game around in the final phase and suffered another defeat after two wins in a row. Brixen's lead over Bruneck is now eight points.
