Virtus Bozen is denied the coronation.

The first half of the season in South Tyrolean amateur football has now finally come to an end: On Saturday, the regional Oberliga cup final took place in Leifers, where Virtus Bozen had to bite the bullet.

A week ago, Virtus Bozen celebrated a resounding 5-1 victory over their city rivals Bozner FC in the South Tyrolean Oberliga Cup final. On Saturday, they faced Levico in the regional cup final. However, there was nothing to celebrate for Virtus Bozen in Leifers this time: the team, coached by player-manager Elis Kaptina, suffered a 0-2 defeat.

In the South Tyrolean lowlands, it took only two minutes for Matteo Cosentino to put his Levico side 1-0 ahead. A thrilling back-and-forth ensued, in which Virtus weakened themselves in the final minutes when Arnaldo Kaptina received a second yellow card.

Gerthoux makes everything clear

In the final minutes, Francesco Gerthoux sealed Levico's 2-0 victory. While the footballers from the Trentino spa town now advance to the national stage, Virtus' cup adventure is over.

Regional cup final

Goals: 0:1 Cosentino (2nd), 0:2 Gerthoux (86th)
