Simon Harrasser has seriously injured his knee.

Before the big derby: St. Georgen is on its last legs

It's not an easy time for Oberliga club St. Georgen. Jergina have now suffered another serious injury and are struggling.

When St. Georgen takes on Stegen in the big city derby on Sunday, the stands will be packed. Among the many fans will also be numerous St. Georgen players who are currently unable to play. Coach Gianluca Cecere will be without around ten players this weekend.

The latest serious injury to the Jergina camp is Simon Harrasser, who tore his cruciate ligament in last Wednesday's match against Bozen FC and has already undergone surgery. His season is over. Leo Brugger suffered the same injury in the fall and will also be out until the end of the season.

A long list of injuries

But that's far from the end of the injury list. Samuel Arras is still suffering from a shoulder injury, Giacomo Favero is plagued by muscular problems, Lukas Aichner is sidelined due to back problems, Michael Oberhollenzer is out for a long time due to a hand injury, Markus Kirchler and Ruben Passler are suspended for yellow cards and red cards, respectively, and several young players are also sidelined.

So it will be exciting to see who takes the football crown in Bruneck on Sunday. Especially since bottom-placed Stegen has gained enormous confidence with two consecutive wins (against Brixen and Obermais).
